A medley of hymns #7 Israel, Israel God is Calling, and #6 Redeemer of Israel from the 1985 edition of the hymn book of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I’m not a huge fan of hymns that blatantly disregard the fact that trials, tragedy, and sin decorate our mortal lives. While it’s important to celebrate righteousness, let us not forget that great is the joy in the soul that repenteth. This arrangement offers both the highs and lows of our mortal existence.
Note that the interlude after verse 3 is the only one not sung by the choir. This represents the intensely personal struggle to repent and endure to the end, after which Zion’s halls will indeed “ring with praise.”
Arranged for SSAATTBB choir and organ accompaniment.
